High Performance Buildings City Council Meeting

At their meeting on Monday, March 16, City Council will consider a resolution for High Performance Buildings for the City of Charlottesville. This resolution accomplishes alignment with State requirements and establishes High Performance Building Standards (HPBS) as the expectations for new and existing municipal buildings. The HPBS, which were published in December 2025, apply to the design, construction, operation, maintenance, and renovation of municipal facilities. They also model best practices for facility design and performance for local building owners, operators, and builders.
